Technology Pill podcast series features young DHRP researchers

A three-part series of Privacy International podcast Technology Pill focusing on the views and experiences of young researchers in the Digital Health and Rights Project.

Privacy International’s popular podcast series, Technology Pill, looks at how technology is reshaping our lives every day and explores the new powers of governments and companies. Their Community Health series featured three podcasts on the research and advocacy of Digital Health and Rights Project:

  • In “Community Health: Kenya Debt Spiral”, Gus, PI’s executive director, speaks to Joan Musenya about life in Kenya as a young person – from mobile money, to data protection, to government surveillance.
  • In “Community Health: Colombia Dating App Dilemma”, the hosts talk to Natalia Andrade and Laura Grisales Silva from Fundación Karisma about dating app data, the commodification of intimacy, and talking to Colombian young people about their experiences.
  • The third and final episode, “Community Health: Young People in Ghana and Vietnam”, focuses on researchers’ experiences across the whole project, both the beauty and the darkness of digital rights in health.
